Nigerian Army Shortlisted Candidates 2026 (SSC 49): Download PDF & Check Status

The Nigerian Army has officially released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSC) Course 49/2026. If you applied for this commission, it is critical that you check your status immediately. The Military Secretary (Army) has directed all successful applicants to report for the selection board which begins next week.
⚠️ Urgent Notice: Shortlisted candidates must report to the screening venue on December 1, 2025. Late arrival (after 11:00 AM) will lead to automatic disqualification.
How to Check the Shortlisted Candidates List
The list is available as a PDF download or directly viewable on the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal. Follow these steps to verify your name:
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to https://recruitment.army.mil.ng/drm.
- Navigate to SSC 49: Look for the “Short Service Combatant Course 49/2026” Shortlist notification on the homepage.
- Download the PDF: Click the link to download the full PDF list of shortlisted candidates.
- Search Your Name: Use
Ctrl + F(on desktop) or the “Find” feature (on mobile) to search for your application number or surname.
Note: If the portal is slow due to high traffic, keep refreshing or try accessing it during off-peak hours (late night/early morning).
Screening Details & Instructions
If your name is on the list, you must prepare for the Selection Board immediately.
- Venue: Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Ribadu Campus (Old Site), Kaduna State.
- Reporting Date: Monday, December 1, 2025.
- Time: Between 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
- Travel Advice: Candidates are advised to arrive in Kaduna on November 30, 2025, to ensure they can report early the next morning.
Required Documents (Must Haves)
You must bring the original and photocopies of the following. Any alteration on these documents will render them invalid.
- Educational Certificates: Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary originals.
- Professional Certificates: Including NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Identification:
- Valid Birth Certificate / Declaration of Age.
- Certificate of State of Origin.
- NIN Slip (National Identity Number).
- BVN Printout (Bank Verification Number).
- Completed Forms: Print out your completed application forms from the SSCC portal.
- Letter of Consent: A duly signed letter from a parent/guardian (witnessed by a court of law) stating they will not seek compensation for injury/death during the exercise.
- Scratch Cards: Valid scratch cards for verifying WAEC/NECO results online.
Packing List (Kit Items)
- Writing materials.
- Blue shorts and white T-shirts.
- White canvas shoes and white socks.
- Toiletries and bedding.
- Full-size colored photographs (4 copies recommended).
Important Warnings
- No Private Vehicles: You cannot bring private vehicles into the NDA premises.
- No Visitors: Visits from parents, guardians, or outsiders are strictly prohibited during the selection board.
- Discipline: A high standard of discipline is expected; violation of instructions will result in immediate disqualification.
