The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially released the full update regarding the Examination Phase of the 2025 recruitment exercise.

Following the conclusion of the online Computer-Based Test (CBT)—which took place from November 12th to November 19th, 2025—the Board has published detailed statistics on candidate performance. Officials have described this third phase as a “major step” in ensuring a fair, transparent, and merit-driven process.

The competition for the 2025 intake is fierce. The Board’s latest scoreboard reveals that over 870,000 candidates participated in the CBT phase.

The results show a highly competitive spread, with the largest cluster of applicants performing above average. Here is the official breakdown of the national scores:

The Board has released the participation figures for all 36 states and the FCT. Understanding these numbers is crucial because recruitment is heavily influenced by the Federal Character Principle (quota system).

High participation numbers in your state generally mean higher competition for the available slots.

What Next? Phase 4: Physical Screening

The Board has officially confirmed that Stage 4 of the CDCFIB recruitment will be the Physical Screening and Document Verification Phase.

While specific dates are yet to be announced, the Board stated that details will be released “soon.”

How to Prepare for Stage 4

Based on previous recruitment cycles, candidates who meet the cut-off (based on the score clusters above) should immediately prepare the following:

  2. Original Credentials: Birth certificates, Indigene letters, and Academic certificates.
