Award-winning Nigerian artist, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is once again trending online – but this time, it’s not for his music or stage performance.
A new video making rounds on social media shows the Afro-fusion superstar getting his armpit hair shaved, a move that surprised many fans who are used to his signature shirtless look on stage, often revealing a thick patch of underarm hair.
Burna Boy has been previously called out on social media for not trimming his armpits, but he never seemed to care. In fact, the singer once admitted that while he sometimes grooms his beard, he usually leaves his armpit hair untouched.

His reason? Comfort, hygiene, and self-confidence. In his words:
“Anyone close to me knows I keep myself very clean. I actually smell better than most artists in the game. With the kind of energy I use on stage, the armpit hair helps keep me from itching or dealing with irritation.”
He added that he maintains proper hygiene by washing regularly and using quality deodorants, joking that women around him find his natural look attractive.
However, the recent video of him finally letting someone shave off the thick hair sparked funny reactions online. Some fans playfully suggested the person doing the shaving probably needed a machete or shovel to handle the “jungle.”
The artist’s expression during the process showed clear relief, and fans couldn’t stop talking about the hilarious moment.
